π FOCUS on @Nadia Hadad (Board Member of European Disability Forum (EFD)), who will take the floor on "Resilience and vulnerable groups from the perspective of legal/institutional/policy level".
π Nadia Hadad is an individual member of the International Disability and Development Consortium (IDDC), a Co-chair of the Board of the European Network on Independent Living (ENIL) and a member of the Executive Committee of the European Disability Forum (EDF).
π She is the Vice President of the Ville de Bruxelles - Stad Brussel Advisory Council of Persons with Disabilities, a member of the Service public rΓ©gional de Bruxelles Advisory Panel and of the Belgian Supervising Commission of the independent mechanism for the implementation and monitoring of the United Nations CRPD in Belgium, for GRIP.
π Previously, she has been on the Advisory Panel of the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights Platform and of the Academic Network of European Experts on Disability (ANED).
π Nadia has a degree in Electromechanical Engineering, specialising in βMechanical conceptionβ, water resources engineering, human ecology, environment coordination, and Philosophy, and still works in this field.

π Last but not the least, FOCUS on Stefano Zanut (Architect & Senior Fire Officer in Ministero dell'Interno - Corpo Nazionale dei Vigili del Fuoco), who will take the floor on "Disaster Risk Management (DRM) Operational perspectives with cognitive disabilities (Down syndrome)".
π ABSTRACT π
π As consequence of their difficulty to establish a relationship with the reality, people with cognitive disabilities may have a lot of problems in managing an emergency situation starting from the understanding of what is happening as well as to the elaboration of what to do in this situations.
π Here is the crucial point: the way to prepare them to face up to possible critical situations and manage relationship with them as end-user, for instance. It's important to elaborate strategies to prepare them before, during and after natural disasters.
π The presentation will be about an experience carried out in Italy with a community of people with down syndrome involved in an independent life route, with formative dating on how to know and manage an earthquake. In this route also was actively involved Firefighters and Civil Protection volonteers.
π‘ BIOGRAPHY π‘
π He is Architect and Senior Fire Officer of the Italian National Fire and Rescue Service (Ministero dell'Interno - Corpo Nazionale dei Vigili del Fuoco) and Member of the Observatory on safety and rescue for people with special needs, where are involved also people with disabilities and their associations.
π He has experience in rescue and emergency management in case of anthropogenic or natural events. He produced several interesting contributions, mainly in italian language, where inclusion is to be considered an important factor to guarantee safety and rescue for all.
